Born as a bet, this mini trip was an opportunity to celebrate a colleague who has signed his contract for an indefinite period. There were three of the flights from Pisa and the arrival in Hamburg ... .. Let's start from Bologna

. We have lunch at a restaurant not far Santa Maria, in the street, run by local Neapolitans and therefore a guarantee in the food (almost as we Bologna). At 17.30 the flight and then we come to '
aeroporto internazionale di Pisa Galileo Galilei verso le 15, piccolino ma molto carino, pensate che il treno arriva davanti al gate degli imbarchi; quindi uno arriva in treno – cambiando a Firenze e fa subito il cheek –in, che spettacolo non avevo mai visto niente di simile. Di parcheggi ce ne sono tanti, ma se volete un consiglio entrando verso l’aeroporto vi ritroverete sulle intersezioni dei cartelli gialli con scritto Parking Chericoni. L’aveva provato un nostro amico, è un parcheggio custodito a 400 m dall’aeroporto e con navetta gratuita, per soli €. 7,00 al giorno; ve lo consiglio (io ho lasciato addirittura le chiavi a loro, tutto a posto). L’aereo chiaramente è di una compagnia Low Cost e per la prima volta devo dire è partito in pieno orario alle 17.30 in punto, volo perfetto, arrivo alle 19 a Lubecca famosa per il
marzapane (qui ha appena piovuto, brutto segno) una cittadina a 70 km da Amburgo. Peccato non poterla visitare, mi hanno detto che è molto carina; vedremo più avanti di farci un salto e visitare anche Brema. Un pullman per €. 8,00 a testa ci porta in pieno centro, davanti alla moderna stazione degli autobus
, sono le 20.
Arrivo : la prima impressione è che la città sia molto molto grande, la periferia è enorme. Amburgo seconda città della Germania per abitanti (m. 3 s.l.m.- 1.700.000 ab.) ha come elemento fondamentale l’acqua, ho notato molti palazzi nuovi e molti in rifacimento, a causa dei numerosi bombardamenti degli alleati nella seconda guerra mondiale.
Altra cosa che mi ha colpito IL VENTO, che soffiava forte e costante ovunque. Penso che giunga dal mare del nord anche se dista "solamente 100" km.
Per fortuna che il nostro albergo è vicino a 100 metri dalla stazione dei bus è
Best Western Hotel St. Raphael . Un quattro stelle non male, con un bel bagno, uno sgabuzzino guardaroba e una tele che trasmetteva anche rai uno e rai due. Chiaramente ormai è buio pesto, ma dobbiamo pensare ad un posticino per cenare. Pronti scendiamo e proprio di fronte alla stazione dei treni ci sono una serie di ristorantini, ne volevamo uno tipico tedesco. Restaurant at Captain

Not having breakfast at the hotel (we asked for € 12 more per head!) Decided to look in the area of \u200b\u200bthe central station where there seems to be the highest concentration of restaurants and bars. A sign in front of '
Hotel Popp which also owns the Capri restaurant attracts us with the offer: breakfast buffet at € 5.90, is ours! Here in Italy there is no such thing; however, we ate for lunch, and refreshments to go out pretty well for the day. Just opposite the station there are several coaches that have a full tour of the city
with audio-language guide to €. 15.00 per head. We choose the company that seemed more sympathetic but the coach was really very ancient and audio-guide did not work very well. ... But let's start the tour there seemed the only way, having little time to see the whole city from the warm and sheltered from the wind. However, the ride is very interesting. esempio di architettura anni 20. Sosta di mezz’ora alla banchina del porto zona St. Pauli per dirigerci poi verso la zona di Speicherstadt

Inside are re-created using actors and special effects scenes, some events in the history of the city, with a particular fondness for those gruesome and bloody, but unfortunately we could not see it. Finally we return to the starting point via the characteristic Binner Alster lake
which overlooks the beautiful city hall and other buildings (there are the swans, but this year they have moved elsewhere too cold)

(wall panel with a variety of coffee) with a view of the lake and the town hall is very nice. We also note that the city has huge Passage or arcades filled with shops. It is now evening and returned to the hotel we prepare for dinner.
We ended up at the restaurant O 'Pote (Italian - Portuguese) in the area behind the hotel, I do not recommend it, we eat pretty well, but the wine is low as the portions, only the bill is plentiful - to avoid - is better around the city, I recommend choosing where you eat only typically German Gasthaus
seems to be a Wiener Schnitzel! (Ie some good stews loaded with food). After a busy day back to the hotel tired but happy.
Note: Attention to the stamps, can not be bought in kiosks scattered along the streets or in souvenir shops but from vending machines.

Sabato 26/01/2008 soleggiato – vento.
Ultimo giorno, e come al solito il vento è molto forte
(veduta dalla finestra del nostro albergo, il centro è a due passi), oggi ce la prendiamo con molta calma andiamo verso il centro a fare colazione all’interno dell’
Europa Passage 
ed entriamo al
Punto Medio – ristorante, bar, pub un po’ di tutto dove la metà dei camerieri è italiana, poi cominciamo a girovagare per il centro fino all’orario di partenza (ore 20 aereo per Pisa) comprando ricordini, regalini e spizzichiamo qua e la, tra specialità portoghesi da assaggiare al volo e cosine locali. Io trovo anche una bella vetrofania
che riproduce la mitica Grecia; siccome siamo nell’Europa Passage : ovunque c’è un “riassunto” di un paese europeo.
Curiosità : Sparse per la città ci sono circa 100 statue a forma di omino con due secchi d'acqua, con colori e materiali sempre diversi. Queste opera d’arte raffigurano "il portatore d'acqua".
La sua storia ha inizio nel 1800, quando ad Amburgo non esistevano condutture d'acqua e la maggior parte dei cittadini andava a prenderla dai Fleeten (Canali) e dall'Alster, perché particolarmente buona e pulita (cosa impensabile ai giorni attuali).I nobili ovviamente non facevano questa fatica e si facevano portare l'acqua dai "portatori". Uno di questi, l'amburghese Michel Johann Willhelm Bentz (1787-1854), lavorò appunto come portatore d'acqua ed era ritenuto come contemporaneo molto rabbioso, così i bambini della città lo insultavano gridandogli "Hummel, Hummel" (che mi hanno detto si traduca con calabrone).Poiché il poverino riusciva raramente ad acchiappare i birbanti - lui portava sempre litri di acqua potabile per chilometri e chilometri in tutta la città - non gli restava che rispondere in modo grossolano con "Mors, Mors" (che, scusate la finezza, mi hanno detto corrisponde al nostro "vaffanculo").
"Hummel, Hummel! Mors, Mors!" Di questo detto, tipicamente amburghese, presto dimenticato, si ricordano invece i nativi di Amburgo, visto che oltre 100 personaggi ad altezza d'uomo e anche più di vari artisti, di Hans-Hummel popolano da tempo la città e rendono particolarmente suggestiva la visita delle strade e delle piazze.
Il risultato è un insieme di opere d'arte allegramente colorate che rianimano la città.
Un'ultima curiosità: quando nel 1956 Amburgo ottenne la targa automobilistica "HH" molti pensarono che derivasse da "Hummel, Hummel". In tal modo si è diffuso il segno di riconoscimento di Amburgo.

Qui si conclude questo primo assaggio della bella Germania del Nord, merita un approfondimento e pertanto una seconda visita….. a presto.
